I've seen the Wizard a few times. Most notable was (now past tense) in San Francisco with an all negro cast. And that was amazing.
However, for (1) brilliant casting (2) staging - very effective in its simplicity (3) brilliant performances by each member of the cast. Every one strong - in voice, acting, being the part. Yes.
It was a pleasure for me to see so many children. The thought that this might be the first live-stage performance many may be seeing, was so gratifying in that its excellence would open their minds, hearts and moods to a life-time of love of the stage.
No wide-screen TV, or silly 3D glasses, can touch the 'feel' of an excellent 'live' performance.
Congratulation.
