Great night out... went along as a diehard Blondie fan but found I enjoyed the Pretenders better. Blondie was good, played the old favourites and although Debbie Harry didn't hit all the high notes, she can still belt out a song with gusto & energy; thought she was great but the young dudes brought into the band were keen to showcase themselves - I want to hear the lyrics, not long guitar riffs.
Then Chrissie & the Pretenders took the stage and ROCKED IT! She sounds exactly the same and delivers with a strong voice and sharp guitar play and played my favourite slower tunes I didn't think they would (eg. 2000 Miles). I think I preferred Pretenders as they're rockier than Blondie so more danceable/party feel than punk-rock.
Good thing about double billing is that you get two excellent acts; stink thing is that they each get reduced stage time so you won't get to hear every song you hoped for.
Love Vector Arena - superb venue, easy access, lots of close parking, heaps of toilets, seats easy to find with ushers to help; only bummer was the guys working the bar who were bloody slow and couldn't seem to add/calculate change.

Favourite moment: Chrissie doing 2000 Miles - classic, beautiful. And the crowd chipping in on 'Brass In Pocket'. @
Opening act(s): The Dukes (missed them due to awful Auckland motorway traffic in wet weather making the 25km trip a 2+ hour crawl). @
