I arrived a littel late to the gig and the cool Shadow beats were already flowing over a packed powerstation audience who were slowly bopping and swaying, never taking their intrigued eyes off the huge Orb that seemed to be floating and spinning in the centre of stage with beautifully clear and breathtaking visuals floating and spinning on the Orb itself as well the huge screen behind.
Suddenly the orb spun and there is our Dj Shadow inside with his decks and other music making paraphrenalia. Crowd cheers and he delves into more delicious beats.
From old to new, Shadow played some great sounds, even when he was "just fucking with" us- the crowd loved it, and I'm sure would've been happy for a lot more of his off the cuff creativity and playing around.
Just as the audience seemed to really be melting into the eclectic beats, Shadow thanks us and exited his 'shadow'. Credits rolled over the orb and Dj Shadow thanked us and left stage.
The lights came up and everyone stood around looking slightly confused, especially when we all realised it was barely 12am. Too short. Surely?
Cool beats but overall i felt like it hadn't even really scratched the surface.
