The tennis was good. It is mandatory to check back packs in and you have to pay for the privilege, so that was the "down" point as it wasn't signalled beforehand on the site.
The stadium is really large and steep so it's best to get courtside tickets if you want a good view.
All in all the Australian Open has more ambiance.

Unfortunately, despite the fact that this event happens every year, it was poorly organized. Waited over an hour to collect my pre-paid ticket because there were hundreds of people waiting to to the same thing and only 4 people serving in the ticket collection booths. In addition, the line to collet pre-paid tickets also included people waiting to purchase tickets (which takes twice as long). Really disappointing as it meant I missed the first match. After collecting my ticket I had to wait to go through the bag check; another big line. I was not aware that you could not take back packs into the venue (regardless of size you cannot take any form of back pack apparently) and had not seen it notified anywhere, or i wouldn't have brought it with me. Had to take my bag to a storage locker (another line and $5). Despite all that, great tennis. Recommend a ground pass for first rounds.

DONOT use WILL CALL it was a shambles. Could not get into the grounds for the start of matches!If we had not jumped the line we would not have seen anything.
Also do not take a back pack or any bag as you then also have to line up for bag checks.
I have been to all of the Tennis Opens this is the worst.
Australian Open is the best........The US open could learn from them as far as being organized and having good staff.
