Simply Red are as good as the day they started. Mick's voice is unmistakable and will be sorely missed. Simply Red shows that they can still command a strong audience.

They're cover of "the Stylistics "You make me feel brand new" was absolutely stunning.

Mick and Band were just amazing...like always.

I could sit and listne and watch them 24/7....

Come back SOON...I'm sure they'll be on the road again in one form or another in the near future!

The atmosphere at Church Road was fantastic. The sound, however, was disappointing. The vocals for both Opshop and Simply Red were too quiet making it feel less like being at a live gig and more like watching it on tv. Would also have been great to have the big screens normally found at concerts of that calibre. Both bands were fantastic - Mick Hucknells voice is still amazing! Bit of a shame they didn't play longer though - it seemed to finish quite quickly. All in all though a great day out.

The lead in band Op Shop was better than I had envisaged.

From start to finish Mick Hucknell and the guys put on an amazing preformance..his voice is
amazing..You make me feel brand new,Holding back the years and If you don't me by now
showed it off to perfection..A great night..OP Shop weren't bad either.

Simply Red sounded amazing, just the same great unique voice he had in the 90's. Sang most of his best hits, and came out for two encores.

From what I have heard the concert they did prior to this one at Church Road was infinitely better. Mick Hucknell was ok but not mesmorising. Op Shop had no spark and are better off writing jingles for NZ Post. The Venue was great but for the soggy trips to the portaloos and the overly priced wine and beer. Most exciting part of the night was watching the police apprehend the intoxicated girls who took the bike from the Amnesty international sausage tent.

Opening act(s): Opshop, my daughter came with us she is 12 years old she loved Opshop but as always the crowd didnt really listen to them which was a shame as they were a very good support act. I enjoyed them. @

I loved the concert as always Mick was great and the music was awesome. My only complaint was that it wasnt long enough. they went off after 1 hour 15 mins and did come back on for an encore but concert was over by 9.30am I thought it would be longer. the tickets are not cheap and as it was his last tour with as Simply Red I did think he would be on for at least two hours. We went to his last concert at the same venue and felt it was slightly better.

It was great to see Simply Red live. NIck Hucknell is someone who really looks after his voice.... it was was incredible, when he was really belting out his lungs he held the mic down my his chest! The concert really went off when they sang their classic hits which were massive back in the 80's. It was great to hear those songs again.

Would have to be the best concert I have seen. Polished professional everything any band/muso would aspire too - the very pinnacle of live perfomance. Mick Hucknal has an amazing voice, the band were absolutely fantastic - the sound couldn't have been any better - what a performance...although it was his last tour, I hope he'll be back next year - I will definitely be purchasing tickets and taking friends along to share the experience..

The crowd was smaller than last years concert at Church Road which was better as there was more room. There was no big screen so those sitting up the hill couldn`t see that well and it is better if you can see the artist close up. Simply Red were not on stage that long and left abruptly, but came back on and did say goodbye. The weather was superb, very warm considering the very mixed weather we had all week, typical Hawkes Bay it was a stunning night in a great venue.

Hi - we went to the other concert and perhaps was a little disappointed that Simply Red did not play as long as the last one just over 1 1/2 hours didn't seem long enough for the price you paid for this concert. However, it was still great music.

We must complement the security this time. We were four rows from the front as last time but the security guards did a much better job of keeping people coming from the back to the front and blocking our view. We are of the opinion that if you pay the price to be up front you want a clear view and not people in the aisles blocking this. I thought the security guards handled the people well and kept most from creeping up and just standing there. Well done.

Third time seeing Simply Red but felt a little ripped off with the short length of the concert. Couldn't believe it was all over at 9.30 and really didn't think we got our money's worth having paid $160 for reserve seating.

simply red were absolutely fantastic they really play to the crowd,and sound exactly like they do on cd's. great venue glad we booked early. great to have two bands at the same venue op shop were great beginning act .would go and see them both again if had chance

The concert was great. Seemed a little rushed as each song was straight after the other with no talking in between discussing each song etc. There was not a huge screen to see them up close which was a shame. The band sounded awesome and he had a great voice which was good live. The show was running a little late so just a shame it was so rushed as i would have liked to enjoyed it more since it was their farewell tour.
overall OPSHOP was awesome and sounded great live and the whole thing was a wonderful experience.

This was a great concert from the start - Opshop were great, even though I have only recently heard of them.....Mick Hucknall has an amzing voice and I am so glad I finally got to hear him sing live and Simply Red (the Musicians) play their instruments....They were amazing and I would love to see them in my home country at the O2 Arena...If I could only win the lottery to fly to see them and would love to meet them as their songs, the words have meant so much to me whilst I was growing up....some have brought me strength and hope.

Thank you Simply Red for being a great Band, I have enjoyed listening to you, as I am sure thousands of people have around the world have to over the 25 years you have been around.

If anyone gets the chance to see Simply Red while they are still touring no matter where they are - please go and see them...the only thing I woul say that disappointed me was that the concert wasnt long enough and I could have listened to all of their songs all night.

Awesome Voice, Amzing Band and they should be proud to have bee together for so long.
Just an amazing night for me and my partner - thanks Simply Red, I will never forget seeing you live in New Zealand.
