I brought a ticket for this show for my dad - Usually my dad is a hard man to impress and I wasn't sure how this present was going to go down...
IT WAS A SUCCESS!!!! My dad absilutely enjoyed himself and also mention how this was one of his best concerts he has been too!!! He loved every moment of it and even said he stood up for a bit of a dance (so it must have been great)
Thank you to the performers and band for making this a memorable concert for my Dad - Best present I could have gotten!!!

From the jungle beat rhythm of Mick Fleetwood with his Blues Band, the unmistakeable voice of Michael McDonald through to the professionalism and distinctive sound of Boz Scaggs, this was a great concert.
Fleetwood's band was bluesy and upbeat from the start and played a varied set to the moderate crowd.
McDonald's set was slow at the start before unleashing his skills on the piano keyboard to lead into many of the favourites from his long era at the top. Too few Doobie Brothers songs for my full liking but he was great none the less.
Scaggs was outstanding with many songs from his Silk Degrees album dotted throughout his time on stage. His female backing singer was brilliant - sorry, forgot her name - with a mix of Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston.

When Mick Fleetwood graciously announced just after performing a great set, you are in for treat tonight ..You just had to pinch yourself ...Sat in a sports hall on a Saturday night in a provincial New Zealand town, having just watched one music great thrill the crowd, could it get any better... then on came Mike McDonald (Mr Silky smooth) sat at the keyboard like an old mate down at the pub, effortless class, great songs and a fabulous voice...Hardly time to recover then on came Boz (Mr Cool) we were transported to the velvet lounge with that laid back groove and golden tones. Emersed in the past, back to the 70's and beyond, yet all the time it sounded like you had just heard the songs for the first time, sounding really fresh but taking you on a journey full of memories from a different time and world ... Just fantastic Mr Scaggs...fantastic ..

Age does not diminish their musical ability as all 3 acts provided a truly wonderful show. Well paced and brilliantly performed the music took you back to those earlier days when life seemed much simpler. Would recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the music of the seventies, you will not be disappointed.

Excellent show.Mick Fleetwood and his Blues Band opened the gig with some good old rock`n blues.Great to hear Albertross and Black Magic Woman again. His latest releases have us seeking out their latest CD.What a show man and character Mick is and his relationship with the audience will always see him as a legend. Michael McDonald`s set had that distinctive Doobie Brothers groove happening. Boz Scaggs took me right back to 1976 and Silk Degrees.Low Down is still one of my favourite songs.Give Us A Dime - amazing !!!What a voice !! what awesome Guitar work !! and his back up singer -wow !! Loved it all. He`s the Man !! What A gig - hope they come back down to N.Z.

Well what can i saw for this all star line up. hard to say which should have been the star billing, Mick was terrific couldnt take my eyes of of his hands but was mesmarised by his lead singers voice, ( sorry didnt catch his name as there were so many fans cheering!) he had a great voice and could play guitar like you wouldnt believe,. Mcdonald seen him live in Boston previously and loved the old favourites and the Mowtown numbers he sand, also great on keyboards, so very talented. Scaggs, gotta say wasnt really a fan but now, well he was trully a great performer, great guitar and i was jumping out of my seat as was everyone else. The audience was a little cool at first, not wanting to be the first to stand up and get jiggy, but as soon as a few got up we were all up and it went off. The black female drummer was fantastic adn the black female singer with Boz was terrific too, she had a great rannge in her voice and really got the crown going. So why didnt they geyt five stars???? they didnt do a number together, maybe next time eh. Oh adn before I go, props to the staff, I purchased a bottle of Mountain dew as i was driving and the bottle promtly exploded over me leaving me laughing, even that couldnt spoil the great night i had adn the staff were very helpful in getting the mess cleaned up. As usual a great night at a great venue, absolutely first class!!!!!!!!!!!

The concert was great, Mick Fleetwood blues band was the best, the musicians were amazing. While Micheal McDonald took a while to keep me interested. Boz Scaggs was excellent, seems that voice and that guitar playing is still as good as ever. the venue was a very good place to hold this concert but I have never been colder in my life. We were in the front row and the airconditioning was blowing a cold gale force breeze straight at us. The people sitting beside us left because they were so cold. they couldn't stop shivering. The security guys and people on the doors we spoke to also said they have never experienced the Vectra being that cold before. Can't wait until Dunedin gets their new covered stadium finished for concerts.

The performers were good.
The crowd however were beyond boring which created a real lack of energy in the concert. Everyone just sat there - no one feeling 'the groove' of these iconic performers.
Part of the fun of concerts is the reaction of the crowd & in this case there was no reaction which let everyone down.

We missed Mick, caught Michael who was ok, and were blown away by Boz. He sang all the songs we came to hear, had a fantastic back up band, and boy oh boy could his back up singer hit the high notes. She was amazing. Lido shuffle was great to finish on, and the blues number he did as an encore was perfect. He can play the blues! We loved every second.

All the Acts were very enjoyable, the event ran like clockwork and the waits between artists were just right. Mick Fleetwood Blues band was the best in my view, fantastic musicianship. Boz Scaggs was also excellent. I liked Michael McDonald, particularly the Doobie Brothers numbers. I thought the long song by the female vocalist in the Michael McDonald set was overly long and self indulgent.
