wow, I waited 25 years to see him, and had given up on doing so. First half of show was classic album, second half was hard rock and an amazing "Are Friends electric".
Amazing and awesome.

a truly amazing gig. Mr Numan was excellent and so was the venue.
been a fan since I bought Cars on 45 single and I still have it!
reserved seats and you were allowed to dance in the isles or the front! this is rare.
went on my own and met some fab folk

Gary Numan has to be one of the best artists to have come out of the late 70s/80s! The Pleasure Principle is definately a must have album for any synth fan and, to hear it live was just amazing.
I was also incredibly impressed with his newer material, as was my teenage daughter who I had dragged along - another generation of fans for you Gary :-)
The music was fantastic and Gary's voice is still electric after all this time. I would highly recommend that people see Gary Numan live at least once in their life. I'm certainly hoping I get to see him again. Please visit our shores again Gary!!!

GOOD POINTS: - Great sound, great lights, great songs - Gary Numan and his band were superb for the 13 or 14 tracks we actually saw.
BAD POINTS: - Tickets said 8pm start, band came on at 0910pm. By tenth song about a hundred people stood up in front of us and we couldnt see a thing. My wife is pregnant was tired after waiting over an hour in the bar area, and was not going to stand for another hour so we left about 1015pm.

Wow, what a gig! I started listening to Gary in about 1979, the rebellious sulky teenager! Going back to see him lie over 30 years later was absolutely amazing and took me right back to those years, it was like I still had my hair back-combed with sugar water, black eye liner and blue blusher applied thickly! Gary sounded exactly like he did back then and put on a fantastic floor show, I don't know where he gets his energy from! He was on the stage for nearly 2 hours and put his all into the show. It was great to see him smile too, something we never saw in the 70/80's, and how cute was that smile! All in all a brilliant show, one of the best I've seen in a long time.
Gary............. if you're reading this, please play in Wellington next time!! And thankyou. :-)

I think the review on the back page of the herald sums up the concert really well, an excellent most proffessional rendition of the pleasure principle, with a harder more driving aspect to it that gave it a nice grunty raw edge, was not so keen on his newer stuff, but with a bit more listening could get to like it,loved the guitarist on the left with his groovy dancing while playing, could have stayed so much longer if he had given some more of his older stuff the same treatment as he gave the Pleasure Principle

we had not seen Gary live before and had not heard any of his new music , we only knew his stuff from the 70's and we were impressed ,he looked great the music was great . it just went off Magic

I had a good seat, would have liked to have been closer, but hey.
The sound was perfect, I have been to many concerts in small venues where the sound distorts when it gets too loud. Not this time.
I had not kept up with his new music,and after the change over of playing The Pleasure Principle, it was amazing to listern to his newer lineup of songs, with more guitar, rock and raunch.
I have an original vinyl copy of The Pleasure Principle and vinyl copies of Tubeway Army, in fair condition, so I went out after the concert to buy the CD,s so I can play them in my car. Although I could not get anything with the new music I heard, apart from a DVD that was made two years ago I will just keep playing what I have.

I have seen other artists performing many years on from their earlier days, & in most cases they do not quite have the shine they once had. I think Gary Numan has got better over the years. A simply awesome experience. I think the ASB Theatre is an excellent venue. The sound quality was awesome as well.

Really, really impressed by this gig. I knew his "Pleasure Principle" album inside-out and i also knew "Are 'Friends' Electric?", but that's it. So the later half of the show was totally new to me... and it blew me away!
To say that Numan himself is a very shy figure, when he's on stage he certainly makes up for it!

After the gig was finished he came back for an encore accompanied by a thunderous applause. Let's hope he'll be back soon!
