I'm a huge fan of Disturbed, and they didn't disappoint, but let's start at the beginning. I know it wasn't part of the concert, but meeting Disturbed at JB-HiFi, prior to the concert, really added to the whole experience. They were very friendly guys. I hadn't heard of These Four Walls previously, but they did a great set, a perfect warm-up act, for what was to come. The bands enthusiasm was infectious, and they were obviously rapt to be there.I will be checking them out online. As I Lay Dying had some technical problems which was a shame, as I found them really enjoyable. I didn't know any of their songs, but they were very engaging, and the crowd were getting right into them. Well, they were from where I was, which was at the absolute front and centre, the best place to be. Next up were Trivium. Their bald guitarist deserves some sort of mention for wearing a thick jacket and somehow not even breaking a sweat. There were almost as many Trivium tee-shirts in the crowd as Disturbed, and the crowd were full-on at this stage, They were very tight, but I didn't enjoy them as much as the 2 previous bands. Disturbed came on with a huge roar from the crowd. They played a fair bit from their new album -Asylum-, and some old favourites too. I was relieved they didn't play their U2 cover, which in my opinion is a heinous crime against metal. I love Disturbed, so maybe I can't be objective, but I thought they were awesome, even though the sound quality may not have been the best. Disturbed have been doing this for awhile, and they know how to work a crowd, but they certainly weren't jaded. They looked to be having as much fun as all of us in the crowd.
