After being row 5 in front of the stage in Sydney the week before, it was home to Auckland to see them perform at Vector Arena. Would seeing the same show for a second time within a week be boring? Anything but!! No Lady Gaga this time, but no loss. We were there to see Queen + Adam Lambert. The set, the sound, the lighting, the pyrotechnics, all sensational. A couple of songs I'd of liked to have heard over a couple that I did, but you can never please everybody 100%. We were there to be entertained, and we were, for over 2 hours each time. Adam Lambert isn't Freddie, but he doesn't pretend to be either. He brought his own style, and what he brought was more than fine by me, a fan since 1973. Brian May signed my original Queen 1 vinyl album before the show, so I was well pleased!! Some critics have panned Queen for keeping on going; I'd like to thank them for doing so. I'd hate to have missed what I witnessed twice in the week just past, and glad they're performing for us, the fans, and don't worry what a few misguided critics might say. Brian May's virtuoso guitar work and Roger Taylor's drumming is just as good as it was in 1973, and the keyboards, percussion and bass were all top notch in support. A serious show from a serious rock band. The last concert of the 2014 Queen tour, but hopefully not the last time I get to see them perform.
