Once more the Imperial ice Stars gave us a show of utter beauty, spontaneity, professional brilliance, and especially humanity which can sometimes be missing in ballet performances of the same.
This precision and entire production were of a standard rarely seen in the western world these days.
More than that Nutcracker on Ice was hugely enjoyable and refreshing to watch.We are so lucky to have this team come to us in Auckland every two years.Can,t wait for their next production !

Both myself and two granddaughters (5 & 9yrs) were spellbound throughout the whole show. The skating, costumes and set designs were magnificent. We did not want it to end and the encore with jumps, spins etc was the icing on the cake. Well worth the drive from Gisborne

We saw the show in Auckland. It is a show with variety and highlights! The flying arabian dance is so daring, the fire on ice spanish dance is spectacular, the Chinese dance is so skillful, and the snow flack dance is so divine...
I am not sure about the first half. Unlike the company's previous shows, such like Swan Lake on Ice and Cinderella on Ice, the first half of this show lacks the usual sopistication of Imperial Ice Stars . It was messy and busy...so many things happening at one time and nothing stands out.... Unlike the previous leads,who displayed elegance and attractiveness, the prince in this show may be good technically but his dance is quite messy....
5 stars for the splendid second half, 3 stars for the first half.

Nutcracker was a magnificent show. The costumes, and stage settings were beautiful, especially the Sugar Plum Fairy scene where the lights showed through the girls' dresses.
It kept you captivated the entire show. I am still wondering how the magician made the girl disappear.

Stunning show, great set, very talented. Kids loved it! Felt that it was quite expensive for what it was, but the show was awesome anyhow.

This is a must see show. It departs considerably from the traditional Nutcracker story in favour of spectacle which gives it a more animated first act than the traditional interpretation. The set changes are very clever, the sets themselves are impressive, and the skill of the performers is world class. Don't miss it.

The show was just fantastic, lighting out of this world and the screen changes were just amazing.
My only small criticism was, not enough information on the tickets for out of town people, The ticket had ASB theater - The Edge, had it of displayed ASB Theater - Aotea Centre we would have known where to go.

The talent that was displayed was just incredible. I have seen top ballet, top ice skating and top acrobatics, this combined all of them together.
The technical side let the show down when we had an unscheduled 10 minute break in the second half due to probelms with the ice.

Really enjoyed it - have never seen the ballet but read the story when I was a young girl (nearly 40 yrs ago) and have always wanted to see it.
The Arabian divertissement was AMAZING... and so graceful.
Only disappointment was we didn't get to see the Cossack divertissement because of issues with the ice... I would rather have left the show 15-20 minutes later than missing out on it - I was really looking forward to see how they were going to do that part on skates. Hence I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
And the nutcracker gymnast was incredibly flexible.

This was awesome evening out! Enjoyed the entire performance and had to keep reminding myself that they are doing 'THAT" on ice!
Just shows the degree of ability and professionalism when an ice fault shortened the skating area. The skaters adapted and the audience would never had know! (except for the fact they told us what the problem was) Thanks for a great show!

Mediocre technical performance. First act, one star, second act 3 stars. Good costumes and the music, as usual, is great. Some ice and music technicalities made me think of some second hand performance. Add to that kids speaking aloud and mothers explaining them what happens on ice... and you'll have the whole image of a blunder. I cannot understand why the kids are not going to the midday shows. A 4 y.o.shouldn't stay in the theatre till after10 p.m.! Plus people clapping their hands for minor performance (liftings, pirouettes) and totally missing the difficult ones (some double jumps).That's what happen when TV are not showing any of the big skating competitions. I'll bet there will be far more watchers than crickett.

It was absolutely fabulous. I went with a friend and our 8-year old daughters and they loved it. Didn't look at my watch once as it kept us entertained the whole time. Thoroughly recommend it. It was magical :-)
