I took my 11 year old daughter and had reservations as we went to Dinosaurs and were front row. She was quite scared at first and sensitive to loud noise, but soon got over the fear.
We were higher up and further back for 'Dragon' and had a good overall view of the arena, althought wished we had been a little closer. I only got the tickets about 5 days before though.
My daughter was lost a bit on the setting of the story - narrative. But when the action really started she was captivated and stayed that way throughout.
I would recommend this show to any parent's and kids! It really is an unforgettable experience and worth seeing.

Despite a technical glitch that slightly altered the way the show progressed, I'm still happy to give this show a 5-star rating - that should tell you something about just how impressive this spectacular really was!
The cunning use of projected graphics provided a stunning and engaging backdrop to an action-packed, fast-paced show, and built mood for the scenes that drew you into the heart of the story - a loving frendship building between a misfit boy and a wounded dragon.
The animatronics were extraordinary, packed full of character and capable, by some creative wizardry, of a range of expressions that allowed the dragons to portray emotion! You would be hard-pressed not to engage with these creatures, especially Toothless, who had the most winning grin I've seen on a dragon in some time.
The actors did a splendid job of keeping the flow of the story while fluidly interacting with humans, dragons and graphics.
This is a show that blends technical craftsmanship, a challenging acting environment and a beautiful story into an experience that has something for everyone - from the very young to those who stoically remain young at heart.
I would absolutely encourage anyone who has dreamed of befriending a dragon to put this show on their "bucket list" - I'm certainly glad our family did!

Wow! Its amazing, full on - and quite long! The Dragons are a little scary for littlies, so lots of reassurance is needed! The story is also quite complex at the beginning for children so I had to explain it to my child quite a bit as to what was happening. Its very full on at the beginning so a bit mind blowing for children! After they are used to the environment and once the dragons have actually appeared, I think all the children - that were around us anyway, relaxed a bit. The expectation of the first dragon coming out was the most 'full on' part! They are loud and big and a bit scary and lots of smoke and fire, but its very exciting. The show is quite long though. Take lots of money for merchandise!

As a family we were really impressed with the 'Walking with Dinosaurs' and since our children loved the movie 'How to train your dragon' we thought this would be another great family outing.
The show was fabulous and we all really enjoyed it. The use again of the moving images on the back screen with the actors and creatures in the arena is a great feature.

BUT
With walking with Dinosaurs there were screens at the sides of the stage so those of us on the sides (which is the majority of the audience) could see the complete effect of the imagery and the creatures that is best viewed from the end of the arena.
This time there was a great deal more use of this imagery with the actors and creatures but NO SCREENS. With our side stage seats a vast amount of the fast moving imagery was lost to us and while the children were happy regardless, as adults and the buyer of the tickets we were a bit disappointed.

The screens would have been particularly great during the flying scenes.
I don't believe the screens would have been a distraction from the arena activity, as with the dinosaurs, it would have been a great reference to better see and understand what was going on in the arena. If the watcher was not familiar with the original movie all of the hard work and co-ordination of imagery and action would have been lost on the viewer.

We were very impressed with the merchandise available and the appropriateness of the items. They were well priced and very well thought out.

Took my 5 year old grandaughter and my 40 something son- we all had a great time.
The Dragons were "brilliant" as my grandaughter said.
The story line and actors wonderful to watch and also had a laugh at times.
Ths show captivates all ages and would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

Definately a feast for the eyes, the dragons were simply incredible. You can't help but be in awe of the amazing job that went into making these huge dragons come to life. I did think the story line was a little lost in translation compared with the movie and that the top end tickets were over-priced. Overall, I would recommend to others but would suggest they purchase the cheaper tickets as the show didn't warrant a $400 spend for a family of 4.

We all (4 adults and 4 children) thought this was an amazing show - we had great seats and a totally unobstructed view. The special effects were great and I think after that, any young children will now believe in dragons!!! They were so life like. Can't say enough - would definitely recommend to go and see.

I went into this show expecting to see incredible, large, and truly technically amazing electronic dragons. I got so much better. By all means the dragons were fantastic, but for me it was the use of space and the way the story was told that really held me and kept me amazed. No part of the arena went unused, and they way it was used for certain aspects of story telling was truly awesome and very creative. Definitely an event to remember. I have great respect for those who choreographed this show and the creative minds behind it. Every person involved in this deserves more than an applause, clapping seemed insufficient.

The how to train your Dragon show was Great. The full size walking and flying dragons was without doubt the highlight of the show. They were the stars.
I would just use the dragons next time as the acting was a little lame. And real life scenery instead of the painted cartoonish video images used would have complemented the dragons so much more.
