Tickets to this were a Xmas gift and my husband and I were looking forward to it. Apparently it was meant to be so good and of an International quality, an extra show was scheduled. "Vinyl" the introducer was a jerk. The half show we endured was poorly choreographed, the sound system lacked quality and overall what was offered was pathetic and an insult to the audience .Many of those seated around us were also in disbelief and some were walking out before half time.Advertisements for this show deceived the givers of our Xmas gift.We have been to similar shows in casinos overseas and not one of them has lacked the professionalism shown here. A waste of a night,except the nice meal in a nice restarant prior.Watch out Palmerston North!

The 1st half of burlesque was so amateurish that we laughed our way through it,and couldn't believe we had paid to come and watch it. Due to a great group of people seated around us and all the silly comments being made the time quickly went. We decided to stay and watch the 2nd half, and must say, this was much better due to the music and abit of audience participation. The costumes were wonderful, but we did feel sorry for the young man who kept the show together and played his part very well and was very clever with his repartee with the audience. He was the narrator, prop man, pick-up person, lift the bath onto the stage man, and general dogs body for the night, and kept smiling the whole time, good on you.

Let me start with something positive...the food was pretty good, I had a gluten free meal and that was good. Friends who had the pork for main and chocolate mousse for dessert were also very happy.
The show itself however was not so good. This show should NOT be advertised as 'international'. I would suggest advertising as a school production but to be honest i've seen bad school productions that have been better than this.
The basics of production were missing. The layout was totally odd, all those who had dinner were seated right at the back and the stage was not raised so lots of the show could not be seen. The performers were not mic'd so they could not be heard either.
Performers costumes were great but I've seen better dancing and singing from the 'girls after work' at the local pub.
Sorry, but if you think this review is harsh you should've heard the group next to us at the event.
At interval our group and many others opted to take the chance to end our misery and leave. Would've been better off investing in a good bottle of wine and watching the Graham Norton show at home.
