This Scottish night was Brilliant, started off with the Auckland pipe band, followed by the Awesome Red Hot Chilli Pipers, a rock band with "the Pipes" what an amazing combination. The first set was over all to soon, we were then entertained by a local band singing classic Scots pop music, very very good they were to, there was a highland dance troupe aided by the Auckland pipe band who were exceptional, we then had the Chilli Pipers back, how they managed to get even better l dont know, the pipe and drum off, the skills of eack piper and drummer unbelievable, then the finale, the crowd who were up dancing and singing along with every song every tune, were well and truly entertaing from start to finish, the whole evening was enhanced by the very funny Des McLean who was telling jokes and stories in between acts. All round a very very good night, hoarse and with sore feet the next day from singing and dancing, great night.
The only down side to the evening was Vector having limited stock at the bars, no red or white wine at 7.15, doors open 7.00, beer and soft drinks inside arena, and having to go out to the foyer for spirits and mixers, they ran out of food very early, and the staff for each queue were your barperson, teller, drinks dispenser, and chef , which caused massive queues

What an awesome way to get into the spirit of the English Scotland Rugby World Cup pool game - great night out. So glad that I listen to Hauraki and heard the morning pirates recommend this night out!!

Great to have the Chilli Pipers here at last Great atmosphere in crowd Despite huge arena music was painfully loud and the Comedian was not up to his promos
The music however was innovative and exciting I think their next Auckland venue will be better Just try and reign in those sound boys

If you are into bagpipes, and even if you are not, these guys are absolutely AMAZING. If they ever play here again we will be there.

from start to end, they give all they've got and it's always better than you expect. Absolute entertainment and true performers, they draw in the crowd and get everyone's blood pumping - trust the Scots! They look like they have so much fun and really play off each other. You've gotta love them. Didn't want it to end.

We expected a night full of Scottish flavour. It started well with the Auckland Districts Pipe Band. Red Hot Chilli Pipers, while impressive missed the mark for all of our party (ages ranging from 30's to 60's) At times the pipes seemed to be there as a gimmick with the guitar taking over. Metal isn't really what we expected or wanted to hear. Some of our party left early. The skill was certainly very high (especially the drummer) but I feel that the music selected didn't suit the theme of the night at all. To get a local cover band in to play Scottish songs seemed odd when the RHCP were belting out AC/DC.
For the bar to run out of wine halfway through the night is unforgiveable. Especially as we were paying a premium. Someone could have made a lot more money and kept the punters happy.
Des McLean we expected to perform a bit of standup but he featured really only as a MC announcing the next act.

A great night and so pleasing to see so mamy Scots and would be Scots at the venue.The presentation of the event was different and very user friendly. Well done to those who thought up the concept ,it suited the type of artists.

I took a minibus full of not so young people to this show, and all the info that came re the show was excellent, kept well informed and even assisted us with advice on van parking,very much appreciated. Kelly Stacey was really brilliant in helping us all and this led to us enjoying a very exciting night at Vector. I took home to Hamilton a very happy bunch of travellers who raved bout the show , the haggis,the highland dancers, and the Chilli`s so a very big thank you from us all

This was the most awesome concert - I didn't think I'd get a chance to see the Chilli's here in NZ. So pleased they came and put on such a fantastic concert - thanks guys, you ROCK!!

The Red Hot Chilli Pipers were amazing and got the crowd going. Fantastic mix of bag pipes and rock guitar. Their version of The Voice and We Will Rock You were superb.
The Auckland pipe band and the Highland dancers also performed really well.
I would definetly recommend going to see the Red Hot Chilli Pipers and I would go and see them again.

Event only let down by the catering and some of the support acts,as below:
The so called comedian Des McLean was rubbish. He failed miserably in trying to convince the crowd that Auckland was like Glasgow. Just not funny.
The Celtic Voice Experience was a waste of time.....it would have been far better if music videos or CDs of the original Scottish artist performing their songs had been played.
Catering was pathetic. The "Express line" took forever to get to the front, then to my horror you were out of square sausage and almost out of haggis before the show had even started.

There was just too much of everything else & not enough comedy. Des McLean was just an MC - I was expecting an actual act or at least some jokes or stories to break up all the bagpipes! The volume of the show was far too loud & quite painful at times. Thankfully I had brought earplugs - bagpipes are loud enough at the best of times without amplification.

The Red Hot Chilli pippers, what can you say...................amazing, fantastic, awesome. One of the best gigs been to in a long time. Didnt think much of the comedian, but the band more than made up for this.!!!!
