Favourite moment: As always for me - the dying swan. Odette was undeniably brilliant and tragic at the same time. @

The troupe was a much welcomed addition to a somewhat dreary spring here in New Plymouth. Technically they were superb and the performance was very well rounded for those not totally ballet-inclined. There were a few dead musical moments that could have been avoided but overall I was sent back in time to another world. Absolutely beautiful costumes and absolutely beautiful dancers. I hope they continue to come here in the future.

Sensational performance, I would encourage anyone to go along and see it. Myself and my seven year old daughter thoroughly enjoyed it, we will be looking forward to them coming out to New Zealand again.

The Russian Ballet were more than stunning. the second Act, Bolero, made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I thought that should have been the final act until I saw the final act!! Brilliant, funny, exquisite, enthusiastic and unforgettable.

It was our first experience of any ballet, for myself and my grand daughter so we had no expectations. We were amazed, from the dancers and their gracefulness to the colourful costumes and music not to mention the story lines. A thrilling experience for us both. Act III had so much variety.

Although the level of skill was different between the men and women this was an awesome show. The 4 or 5 lead women were faultless, strong, dedicated to honi ng their skills. The swan was breathtaking, I got caught up in the sadness of this beautiful creature. The choreography was high energy especially in the final act where the audience was left hungry for more.

The Russians know how to put on a professional, intelligent and skilful performance. The show left us bewildered with their talent. We have seen so many ballet performances of the Russians , both in New Zealnd and Russia and we shall keep going to see them. Their shows are incredibling pleasing.

It was an beautiful evening of amazing talent. I loved the mixture of pure classical ballet (which you dont aften see nowadays) and the contemporary items. Bolero was a spine tingling perfomance which left me almost breathless. The staging was excellent for all the items and the dancing of the principals was outstanding. I don't think I have ever seen a better interpretation of the "dying swan" and I did see Fontyne dance it. Overall an evening which well exceeded expectations. N.B I dont know if this was because it was an excert but Don Qiuixote doesn't seem to do much - maybe the armour was too stiff - the actor certainly was! but from this example its not exactly a dancing role and except for the title the character seems rather irrelevent.
