This was a great gig, kyuss played a great set and the sound was pretty good too, venue also a lot better than others of it's kind in Auckland, overall great band and worth seeing live

Kyuss Lives! were tight and loud. The venue was set out kinda strangely but everyone seemed to get right into it, myself incuded. I never thought I would see these guys live together so I'm more than happy. Awesome.

I was so happy and privelaged to have been at the PowerStation to see Kyuss Live on Friday night,with such a diverse crowd with young and old,the atmosphere was full on,KYUSS came out and the crowd exploded,KYUSS sound was of old,loud and so raw and as if they never split in the first place.I will never forget this concert and will go down in history as one of my all time favourite live concerts,KYUSS diffenitly LIVES!!!

I will buzz on this gig for years to come! Crisply played fuzzy epicness that had me bouncing from start to finish. Opening with Gardenia and moving though all the songs we wanted to hear and jamming them out as you would expect Kyuss to do. With the odd break to allow the guitarist to noodle along with his riffs and singer Garcia to wonder off stage to do whatever it is front men do back stage in these moment, the obvious fun the band was having (especially the drummer) and being surrounded by old friends the night has rocked it way into legend. Well in our lore anyway!

I have been wanting to see Kyuss preform for as long as I can remember. From the first time they have been the absolute epitome of Stoner Rock music, completing many a haze filled night.
The concert was everything I could imagine it to be, it even had the we are so cool we will start late beginning.
The sound quality of the Hunter Lounge was great, the set list was brilliant, playing all the greats and they were just brilliant.
The systematic mosh pit that enveloped the entire concert area added to the shared euphoria felt by everyone present. Unlike Kate Perry, the mosh pit did have its redeeming features, inlcuding great crowd, absolute euphoria and some Mary Jane.

One of the best shows Ive ever witnessed and was well worth the wait .Josh Holme on the guitar was replaced by the coolest dude Ive seen play an axe and def didnt disappoint and the rest of the band were the ultimate in pure rock band and every other cliche youve ever heard .
The powerstation is still one of the best venues in the world to witness such events as this !!!!

well i dont need to sell it to ya anyone who was there will be well aware of how cool those dudes are super chilled ,tight and pro as , real masters of the art , one of the sickest gigs i have been lucky enough to see! Nearly 20 years of waiting was worth it in the end.....
and the old powerstation's looking pretty flash these days...well done

Setlist: All their "Solid Gold Hits" including: One Inch man, Rodeo, Hurricane & even a rare performance of Fatso Forgotso.

Only one they missed out was Demon Cleaner but I think Scott Reeder played on that one so that's probably why they didn't rock it. @

I never thought i'd see the day when Kyuss would play live again and it was one of those rare bucket-list gigs, like Rage Against The Machine getting back together for big day out, that you just can not miss.

And boy was I not dissapointed. They pretty much blazed through their greatest songs collection mainly culled from the "Blues for a Red Sky" & "...And the Circus Leaves Town" albums with a couple of rare one's scattered throughout.

The gig was packed out and everyone looked like they were having a ball, including the band. Bruno Fevery filled Josh's shoes well and although he played some of the solos note for note like Josh, he added his own layer to most of the songs, especially the more jammy one's.

The only let down was that they didn't play "Demon Cleaner" or "Catamaran" but seing as those are songs with Scott Reeder on bass duties instead of Nick I kinda wasn't surprised althought that would've topped off an already perfect setlist.

A great, not to be missed event. Now, if they could only intice Josh to record with them again...

When i heard Kyuss were playing in New Zealand i thought it must be a typo...!, on checking the paper i could not believe my eyes, it was one band i never thought would get back together let alone play live here in NZ.
I saw them way back in the day with the original line-up and i was dubious over the new guitarist Bruno Fevery, but he filled Josh Hommes boots very well.
As for the Gig Kyuss were every bit amazing playing all the favorites i had a grin from ear to ear, Jon Garcia let the music speak as he wasted no time in between songs.
i thoroughly enjoyed it a night to remember.
A new Kyuss Album next maybe?.

16 years on....this is the tour that should have followed "And The Circus Leaves Town" instead of a break-up. Concerns at the lack of Josh Homme were completely unfounded as Bruno Fevery owned the whining, down-tuned lead over the thrumming bass of veteran Nick Olivieri and the always frenetic drumming of Brant Bjork. John Garcia was the king of cool, belting out an A-side setlist that didn't disappoint (aside from the exclusion of hit single Demon Cleaner). My ears are bleeding, my body is aching and bruised....how could it have been any better?

From start to finish a great show. Sound was good, they played well. The crowd was on it's best behaviour( I saw no trouble). Kyuss did every song that you would expect, even pulling out Fatso forgetso. They must come back.

Huge thrill to see a band that had already broken up by the time I'd discovered them in 2001. Over the last ten years i've collected their albums and they quickly became one of my favourite groups. From the little bit of info that i've picked up here & there (there seems to be only one book about them and i've yet to see a DVD...one that collected their vids + as much live footage with good sound quality as possible, would be a must buy for me) I got the impression that they would never reform - wrong! Ok Josh Homme is missing from what was otherwise the original line-up & of course his absence makes this reunion less than perfect, but the guitarist (sorry dude, i've been too lazy to have yet learnt your name) who has replaced him, does a good job of faithfully replicating Josh's parts (i'm guessing that Josh's absence is the reason that they're performing under the moniker 'Kyuss Lives!' rather than 'Kyuss"). Anyways to the gig itself...the first plus was that they played two nights at the Powerstation rather than one night at one of the bigger venues in Auckland, all of which have faults that can degrade the concert going experience for me ( acoustics,atmosphere,and closeness to the performer, being the three big gripes), the Powerstation pretty much gets my vote as the best place in town to see a band, outside of places that would be too small to accomodate the ticket sales of an act of this level of popularity. The next plus was that after building this band up in my head, I wasn't disappointed with the reality - the band was tight, they played as many of their classic tracks as they could sqeeze into the 90 min that they were on stage( no mucking around or technical problems disrupting the power or flow of the performance) these guys are a tight live outfit; from their smiles it was obvious that they were enjoying themselves,each other, & the music ( not just going through the motions on a gruelling money making exercise-I hope you guys made lots of money, i'm a 'starving musician' and I don't see that's there's anything wrong with making as much money as you can once payday comes along!) & the 'new' guitar player gelled with the other members of the band, as if he'd always been there ( tough job playing someone elses parts- playing them faithfully and yet somehow making them your own). All and all I enjoyed myself immensely & if jumping around and yelling is an indicator (& it surely is) then so did the large crowd. Seeing this band was a dream come true, and they didn't disappoint.
