What happened?
This was my second time at Coro Gold and the venue was fantastic, once again, but it seemed that the Black Seeds were given an unsuitable spot to play their style of music. In my opinion and those evidently of the people sitting within a 300m radius of me, the style of music reversed the mood and "buzz" created by an electric TikiDub performance.
This slowed the night down considerable and lost the momentum built over the afternoon and evening.
I hate to admit (big fan), but I was also disappointed in the Shapeshifter set, not only was there no count down to midnight (like last year with visuals), as with last year, but the groups selection of tunes was obscure and very B-side! What happened to the classics?! Tracks from Riddemwise and Solstice weren't played, nor the big tracks from System...Also, the low end speakers kept dropping out so the sound was poor and weak!
Compared to last year this was a poor relation in my humble opinion.
Highlights - Trinity Roots rocking 12,000 people & Tiki with P-Diggs hyping things up!
Lowlights - Black seeds buzz kill set post TikiDub & Shapeshifter pre and during midnight playing b-sides and no countdown.
