My friend visiting from the UK and myself were very impressed with the quality of the concert.. The musicians looked very professional and played admirably. The conductor was vibrant,, the venue was perfect. It made me want to belong to this group and be part of the assisting party that organize such a concert.

The TWSO concert at Rotorua was well worth the hour-long journey to Rotorua. The brass and woodwind sections in particular brought the Sibelius and Tchaikovsky to vibrant life, despite the rather dry acoustic. Luckily the acoustic did not hamper the superb cello playing of Santiago Canyon Valencia in the Schumann. From where I was sitting the balance between the soloist and orchestra was spot on. I haven't heard the TWSO before and I shall look out for their concerts in future when they can get a bit closer than Hamilton (e.g. Rotorua). Exciting all round. Well done all.
