What a beautiful soothing voice - so enjoyed our evening with Isla Grant and friends.
Al Grant was great though would have liked to have heard more from him and Isla Grant together. Talented back-up musicians and guest artist, Bevan Gardiner, John Denver look and sound-alike was amazing! Will no doubt hear more from him in the not too distant future.
The song about the Ghosts of Caladoon(?) - was my absolute favourite! The graphics, lyrics, musical accompaniament, harmonies and the haunting notes from the piper, set the scene for this superb renditon.
Totally enjoyable - thanks Isla, Al and friends!

Easy listening, thought provoking lyrics, foot tapping entertainment. Isla and her fantastic three man back up took me on a trip so fitting for my age, but oh so delightful in bringing back my childhood memories of the Scottish humour I grew up with. What else can I say but 'when is the next visit from Isla, I have to make a party of it with family and friends.

The music was very enjoyable, the sound was just the right level unlike many other concerts we have been too. Would have liked to have heard from husband Al more as we really liked his voice. The Bruce Mason venue is just right. Every one would have had a great view.

Thoroughly enjoyed this, beautiful performance and loved the simplicity and purity of it. She had three others playing with her - you don't need a lot. (Actually 4 counting the piper). The pity of it was the poor attendance. Got talking to a man from Timaru and he didn't know they had been performing down there and knew of others who would have gone.
Really annoys me you can't select your seats more specifically on line.
You have to take pot luck with what the computer decides are the best seats avaliable - not good enough!!!

3 of us went to this concert and enjoyed it very much, Isla doesn't put on airs and graces so there was nothing false about her or her group , all very talented in their own right. We got the bigest surprise when after half time when a young man who could have been John Denver standing there in front of us except he had gone to be with God years before. What a voice Bevan Gardiner has and while he is alive John Denver will will not be dead, and none of us realised he is blind until he was led of stage by another person. What a marvelous job he did. Congratulations Bevan and thanks to Isla for inviting him to sing. Thankyou all for such a great night.

Throughly enjoyed the evening. Fantastic Voice and considering all songs were her own compositions it was great. The test of a concert is the level of engagement without realizing that time was slipping by and you could stay for more . The support musicians too were fantastic. So was Al Grant !!

Really enjoyed the Isla Grant show once again, including the support artists. Really impressed with the young "Kiwi" singing John Denver songs. Great to hear her new songs and always impressed by the fact that she writes all her own songs.

A really great performance. Varied, fun and some really sad meaningful songs!
Good old fashioned CLEAN banter, and some good jokes inbetween. I found the explanation of the choices of songs performed really good, and what inspired them and why some of the songs were written. It gave one a better insight to the entire story of Isla's honest choice of words.
We booked as soon as it was advertised for New Plymouth, although we live in Auckland. We travelled all the way down, stayed in a hotel and arrived home last night. We later discovered Isla was doing the north shore, a few kilometres from home. Unfortunately the budget does not allow another 2 seats to be purchased, otherwise we would love another show. One thing on the downside, was NO DVD's for sale only - CD's and the other sad thing, was the song about her mother (this made me weep, for my own personal reasons) and Twinkle little star, (my granddaughter has nightmares)was not on any of the 3 CD's we bought at the show. Will these be released later? All in all a, Great weekend, topped by an amazingly relaxing and enjoyable show.

The music was too much too similar for us.Al Grant was magnificient,as was the Piper and the Irish muscians.We enjoyed the young guy that sang John Denver.Altogether we found Isla's music a tad boring and she rattled on too much.Sorry but thats the way we saw it.She does have a lovely voice though,spoiled for us the constant reptition of material

After seeing the show my wife and I were quite disappointed that her husband didn't sing with Isla he had an excellent voice and they would have harmonised very well
