On Friday night went with my parents to see my Dad's favourite singer perform at Bruce Mason.
Isla has a wonderful warmth and repartee with her band and in between the songs an explanation on why she wrote them, made you identify with all her lyrics even more than before.
A number of her newer songs from her most recent album were sung, but she saved her best song for last: "My Homeland". When the piper came out and joined her on stage she had my Dad crying in the first 10 seconds.
Thanks Isla and friends - a great night enjoyed by my parents, which will be talked about for a long time to come.
