The Weather certainly was with us last night at the More FM Winery Tour in Tauranga as we sampled the delightful array of talented Kiwi music from performers of gold medal standard.
Three icons of the nation's music industry came together again - Dave Dobbyn, Bic Runga and Tim Finn to wow us with their brilliance and versatility as they took turns to lead us with their own songs and sing back-up on each others hits that spanned almost 30 years.
Dave Dobbyn was encouraging and stirring towards the crowd with his attitude and songs - Whaling, Beside You, Loyal and Slice of Heaven to name a few. Bic Runga was gentle yet showed drive with her versatility and skill and made the crowd sway along. But Tim Finn stole the show with his energy, eccentricity and a performance that some said couldn't be done again as he took us back to the seventies and early eighties with Split Enz!
The crowd had been treated to the opening set by Boh Runga who gave a stellar performance of old and new hits and then was joined by Che Fu for the duet of Come Together. Che Fu threw off his chains to show us his velvety vocals for some of his own hits too. Throughout the whole evening the quality of the supporting band members was never in doubt from guitars to keyboards, backing vocals to the beat of the bass.
The night finished with a double encore and a final rendition of Welcome Home from Dave, Bic and Tim - they will all be welcome back any time soon!

I loved all three but Opshop was definately the best. Pity about the rain but still got into it and made the most of the night. Was a shame they didn't organise the marquee to go up like they did a few years ago - would have made a huge difference for everyone.

Shame it wasn't on earlier in the day, there wern't that many people there and we had to keep our kids home from school the next day as they were knackered - they loved it though. Real family atmosphere! Would have been cool to have Brooke on first, she was quite mellow and would have been great while everyone was enjoying their picnics and then the other bands after when we were ready to dance. Awesome show though, would totally go again!

This was the 3rd Winery Tour Concert we have been to at Mystery Creek in the last 4 years and as usual the music was fabulous. Unfortunately the weather was not and it did spoil it. We were disappointed the marquee tops were not put up as they were a couple of years ago when the weather looked like the rain wouldn't clear. We had decided to take the children for the first time and they were troopers about it. Getting all the autographs, meeting the bands and dancing in the mosh pit were highlights of the evening for them. I was confident this year buying my tickets in advance because I thought the marquees would go up if necssary, I would hesitate to do so in the future.

Concert was amazing. Midnight Youth were awesome - the best by far. They should have closed the evening. All 3 acts were brilliant but Brooke Fraser was too mellow to end the night on. She should have played first.
Price of the wine was very decent as well.

My 17 year old daughter and I braved the downpour and despite getting thoroughly soaked the performances made it all worthwhile. Midnight Youth stole the night with an amazing performance. Brooke Fraser sung like a song bird and kept the cold away. Op shop were excellent but I would have enjoyed hearing more of their older stuff. The venue was great, however, the amount of alcohol consumed and the drunkeness of some of the adults spoilt the evening at times with the youngsters getting pushed around by them, which was a shame. All in all a great night of fantastic music.

Excellent! Though it drizzled the entire show, it was well worth going ... will definitely be going next year. A great event for all ages. Highly recommended.

The rain obviously didn't help the night .To me the artists appeared in the wrong order .The night started hard out but ended with a whimper .Midnight Youth was the best performance .Opshop went well ,but unfortunately Brooke Fraser just slowed everything down

It was such a shame about the weather. The concert should have been cancelled !!!! Far too wet and not enjoyable. Awesome acts and music but couldn't enjoy it to the fullest . Will have to hopefully wait till they all come back to do it again ???

Thoroughly enjoyed the concert, the venue was great with ease of access and speedy exit. The artists were amazing and the atmosphere although very wet was electric, I look forward to attending more events like this and hopefully can enjoy them even more when mother nature plays her part.

Even though the rain was pouring down, it didn't dampen anyone's spirits and there was still a great turn out. The novelty of the night was how to stay dry while eating your picnic dinner!! Tarps and umbrellas were the norm with a few people who came prepared with marques etc. It was a great night with awesome music, awesome atmosphere, great location, and awesome people. Hamilton people you rock to come out on such a damp night!!!

I went, I saw, I loved the only thing was the rain…………why wasn’t the show cancelled until the rain date! The performers rocked the actually atmosphere was the pits due to the rain. Impossible to enjoy yourself drinking or eating! Such a shame the line up was so good and the night had the potential to be the best but the rain was horrible!

Loved Midnight Youth & Op Shop... Brooke Fraser okay. After such a big start with Midnight Youth, wanted the rockn to continue... i guess the weather impacted on the whole night, shame about the rain...but crowd made the most of it... we took the kids and they enjoyed it... would definetely return next summer.

Really enjoyed the event despite the weather. Loved Op Shop and thought Brooke may have lost a few of the audience with her less known songs, however she got it all back with 'something in the water'.
Very enjoyable night, would definitely go again, and will hope for better weather next time!

The weather was not great so didn't take a picnic. We wore raincoats and leggings to keep dry and warm. The venue was good with a good view of the screens from the hill. The que to the Coffee Guy was about 60 minutes so decided to give that a miss after waiting 30 minutes. Opshop were great and were for us the highlight, we thought Brooke Fraser was a bit flat. We missed Mid Knight Youth as didn't know what time the event started and arrived at 7.00pm.

Great concert, OP Shop the best. Raining the entire time so wet through. We were told NO Umbrellas but everyone who was sitting on wet grass had them up. Should have been postponed I would have thought. Even cars were getting stuck getting out of a muddy paddock.

The weather was terrible. The venue was a paddock out on a farm unlike other winery venues around the country. The winery was well in the backround behind the stage. All the performances were great, sound quality was good, sound mixing needed to be adjusted the vocals were drowned out, at times. Next time will go back to Villa Maria Winery, worth the extra travel.
Brooke was late due to no fault of her's, the organisers did not keep the public informed.

Unfortunately it was hosing down the whole time but it was still a really good experience for a first timer!
I felt that the backing was a wee bit too loud and tended to drown out Brooke's voice! Opshop was perfect and the vocalist very audible.
Midnight Youth was ok but not really my scene.
