Vampire Weekend impressed many on the 29th of April at the Bruce Mason Centre. It was the first time they've toured the NZ/AUS area, and for their first time, they didn't do bad at all. They played every song the crowd came for with the exception of 'The Kids Don't Stand A Chance'. Apart from missing this great song, Vampire Weekend managed to nail every song they played, hits or not.

With lyrics like 'In December drinking Horcchata, I looked pychotic in a bavaclava' from their hit Horchata you had a feeling the art of song writing has been reinvigorated for todays youth. With an Olympic pace in guitar rifts and drums, you felt as soon as the opening number White Sky kicked off you were in for a ride that surely goes back to the 60's enthusiasm for Rock n Roll. But don't be fooled, these blood suckers aren't stopping there if Diplomats Son is anything to go by with influences from M.I.A, this is NYC music at it's best and I'm one who'll be looking out for more offerings from the city that never sleeps....at least while the sun is down.

The gig was so good that the cd sounds so hollow and empty now. I still wonder about the Bruce Mason Centre as a venue, but the band itself was just fantastic. Definitely recommend Vampire Weekend!

Vampire Weekends concert was phenomenal. They sounded exactly the same as they do on their records and their light show was phenomenal. Apart from the venue being too small, the overall show was a must see and definitely not to be missed.

Awesome concert with an amazing atmosphere! Bruce Mason is a great venue, if a little small. Would recommend vampire weekend to anyone who is keen for a good night with some wicked tunes!

Wow this show was amazing, Ezra Koenig voice live just WOWed me, its so amazing, it makes the CD sound bad, played a lengthy show for a band with only 2 album, it was like a big indie dance party, everyone was definitely having fun. This is definitely one of those bands that you'll never get the same feeling with from a CD. All the instruments sounded so vivid, and unique.
