As this was my first visit to Gisborne and so looking forward to the festival, I have to say that I did not realise you had to pick up glass in town before going to ASB showgrounds. So at the last minute I had to get back into town to pick up our glasses. Also there was NO signage at the showgrounds to point us in the direction for pick up by shuttles and even the people on the gate could not tell us. So, just a couple of things to improve on for the future years and if we come again we are now forarmed. Otherwise, we did enjoy the festival and the glorious weather Gisborne turned on for us.

Favourite moment: The gasps of disbelief when we reached the beach setting of the Amor Bendall venue.Stunning! What an introduction to Gisborne for out-of-towners! @

We are veterans of many wine festivals up and down the country for the past 25 years, but we have to rate this latest event tops.
It ticked all the boxes...perfect day, happy crowds, fantastic venues, great organisation, good local food, good music... can it get any better?
Using the showgrounds as a departure point was a stroke of genius, as there was so much to enjoy between buses.
The usual problems with overindulgence were rarely seen, and dealt with adequately.
We really appreciated the presence of so many officials to control bus loadings in an efficient and helpful way. Apart from a late start, buses were adequate and drivers friendly, adding to the happy atmosphere. Well done Gisborne!!

This was my first time at Gisborne wine & food Festival, it was an amazing day!! will definitely go back again! met heaps of great people, atmosphere was awesome and lots a great wine to be drunk!! Oh and can not forget the best weather was provided by Gisborne!!

We loved it! The brilliant weather helped but we thought the organisation was fantastic e.g. the shuttle buses between venues. Great food and wine and stunning locations. We were a little taken aback at how much some of the wineries were charging per bottle, especially as we had seen it for much less in the supermarket! Also there were some VERY drunk people (as you'd expect!) who were still being served alcohol and receiving little help from staff to walk or be looked after...
We timed our drinking perfectly and had a great buzz on by late afternoon - we love you, Gissy!
