A great night in a slightly wet Wellington but who cares about the rain when there's a great rugby match to watch. From the pre-match build up with the drumming and whistling band banging their beat around the stadium, to the Three Pacific Tenors and of course the all important match. It was a great night and a great result.
The Springboks didn't look their usual selves, less aggressive and less inventive but maybe this was due to the sheer dominance of the very proud Kiwi chaps dressed in black. They didn't let them into the game too much and that was down to their defence and sparkling play by the backs. Dan Carter's kicking was a little off, but give the guy a break, it was very windy, whipping all around the stadium, a spinnaker would have looked like a bag of washing in any direction and nearly all his kicks where in either corner, almost on the line.
The team were fantastic, the atmosphere was great, it was my first All Black game and first in Wellington, it didn't disappoint, I felt like I was back in Twickenham, only it was better here.
